Your Business Model: Create and Sell Your Own Products

    By | October 17, 2009

The most popular way to run a business on the Internet is to create, develop and sell your own product.  The most common type of product is an Information Product which can come in many forms such as an ebook, workbook, home study program, autoresponder ecourse.

You can be even more creative by designing a line of jewelry, crafts, candles or other type of actual product.  Take a digital picture and upload to your website. After the client purchases the product, you fill the order and have the product shipped to the client.

Expenses to operate this type of business model will depend on the type of product you sell.  For instance, a product that is a digital download such as an ebook will have few expenses.  You simply upload your pdf file of the book and create a link for the consumer to use to download the product when the purchase fee has been paid.

A physical product is a bit different.  This requires either contracting with a fulfillment company to fulfill and ship the product or you have to package and ship it yourself. This will incur additional expenses that must be figured into the cost of the item.

The details will become a part of your business plan.
