Do You Need to Forgive to Succeed in Business

    By | May 18, 2008

Maybe the questions sounds strange but have you considered that holding unforgiveness in your heart could keep you from reaching your success goals?  Think about it.  Forgiveness means letting go of a wrong that you have suffered without having to get the satisfaction of some type of revenge, relief, or payback.

Here are a few reasons why holding onto unforgiveness could keep you from moving ahead to your goals.

    1. Unforgiveness means keeping track in your head of a wrong that has happened.  This takes mental, physical and emotional energy. This is energy that you could be using to think about building your business or creating a new income source.

    2. Unforgiveness means continually thinking about what has already happened.  Thinking continually on the past means you can’t focus your attention on the future.  This means new ideas and new trends will pass you by. You’ll be too busy trying to look back to see what’s in front of you. The present and future are what hold the ideas for success.

    3. Unforgiveness saps your energy. When you focus on being angry about a wrong imposed on you by another, you have to invest your emotional energy into the process.  That is a very personal thing. You walk around looking whole. But the truth is that you are a walking wounded who needs to keep a hand over a wound that keeps on bleeding. Your sapped energy keeps you tired. You say depressed and dull the thought processes of your mind.

These are initial thoughts about why you need to think about forgiving past hurts in order to move ahead in to business success.  It would be interesting to hear your thoughts and responses to these points.
