    More Ezine Article Tips

    By | December 30, 2009

Writing a Ezine is so important that we’re going to review several tips to writing articles that get your subscribers to read the content.  Here’s a few more ideas and tips.

Keep up with what’ going on in your industry including what’s causing a controvery.  Your niche can be fashion, gossip and entertainment or business related such as accounting and finance.

The topic doesn’t matter as you will always find some sort of controversy happening.  Carefully select something about that controversy to write an article that brings attention to your ezine and motivates your subscribers to open and read your articles.

To find a topic check out forums, blogs, and social networking sites that relate to your topic to see what people are talking about. What common questions or comments do people have and how can you spin that into an exciting article?

One of the most popular type of artiles is a list article.  People enjoy reading lists.  They’re easy to read and always provide some value. List are also easy to print out and use as a resource for the future.

Consider writing a list type article for your next ezine and evaluating the results. Does your open rate increase?  You might even find that people forward the article to others and you get a new subscriber.

    Write Exciting Ezine Articles

    By | December 30, 2009

An online Ezine is a basic internet marketing strategy that lets you stay in contact with subscribers on your mailing list.  If you’re using your website correctly to build your business, you’re building an opt-in mailing list.

If any of you are receiving NACWIB mailings through your email account you’re on the NACWIB opt-in list.  Once you build your list, start creating your Ezine.

The trick is to continually come up with content that provides value and inspires your subscribers to open the email newsletter and read the content.

That means coming up with exciting ezine topics. Here are a few suggestions to inspire and motivate you.

First of all, find ways to get people to respond to your ezine articles by asking them questions and telling them to write you. This lets you test and track  to see which of your newsletter articles  have the highest open rates.

See if there are any common things in the articles in each of those popular newsletters. Perhaps your audience enjoys product reviews or list articles because they respond to those the most.  Then you know that those types of content are exciting to your prospects and you can repeat that content in future ezines.

That’s just one way to find out what type of articles to write as you get started with your ezine.

    Business Planning Still a Priority

    By | October 30, 2009

Today at my women’s networking group there was a lot of talk about the importance of having a business plan that lets a business respond to the need of the changing economy.  When the business women around the table were asked if they had a working business plan or not, the majority had to admit they didn’t.

I can’t say this was a surprise.  After 30 years of working with business planning and development, it no longer surprises me when small business women admit to working without the basic road map of a business plan.

Many women go into business to meet an immediate need. Others decide to use their unique talents in a way that also brings in an income and find they are in business.  The idea of business planning may not become an issue until a major roadblock is met head on. Today, that looming roadblock is a down economy that is playing havoc with the small business woman.

Perhaps the need isn’t always apparent when things are going well.  According to a special 2009 research study on The Economic Impact of Women’s Businesses in the United States conducted by the Center for Women’s Business Research “women-owned firms have an economic impact of $3 trillion annually that translates into the creation of and/or maintenance of more than 23 million jobs – 16 percent of all US jobs.”

Even with this type of success, planning for the long term is a priority step every business woman should take. Consider developing your business plan if you haven’t and updating it if you have to meet with the needs of the changing market economy.

Christian Business Women Can Excel NOW!

    By | October 18, 2009

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  Philippians 4:6 (NIV)

     __

Are you anxious about your business pursuits?  Has the worldly worry about the economy, health care, swine flu, spending habits and all other topics gotten inside of your head and started eating a little hole of doubt in your brain? The scripture tells us, “Do not be anxious about anything.”  That means don’t be worried about anything going on around you, including all the stores closing up, all the doomsday talk or anything else.

     __

Holding to this idea has to be a conscious decision on the part of any Christian woman in business. Taking steps in your business life with confidence means knowing how to implement Biblical principles in practical ways while carrying on your workday.

     __

Remember, God is still in control. It’s easy to forget this truth when everything you hear is negative and full of gloom. The media industry makes its money by creating reports that people tune in to hear. For some reason, people in this modern society are becoming more drawn to the negative side of things.  That’s why news reports of negative situations get a lot of attention.

     __

But just because something negative is being reported it doesn’t mean it’s the truth for you.

    __

Negative reports are not what feeds your soul, or the success of your business.  You can’t spend time dwelling in negative reports about how bad the economy is and think about how great your next product sale will be at the same time.

     __

Letting your mind get saturated by reports of hatred, anger, and doom will start to set up a battle in your mind to stay focused on your plans for a prosperous business future. Consistent negative reports bring up feelings of fear and fear can make you feel too afraid to try anything new and innovative.

     __

Keep a grip on reality.  The truth is that the world is always has been and always will be full of turmoil.  At this time in the business world, the economic conditions are shifting and changing.  The downward spiral toward economic depression has been halted and a turnaround is in progress.  Instead of being stuck in thoughts of impending disaster, you can keep your mind prayerfully open to get new, creativity ideas.

    __

The world is looking for new products and services.  Instead of seeing lack and limitation, the reality is that you area a child of the God of the Universe.  There is an endless supply of ideas that are just waiting to be brought to the world.  Instead of being in fear that your business won’t survive doing what it’s always done, throw your heart and mind open. You could be the one to bring new ideas to the marketplace that have never been seen or heard of before.

     __

Be responsible for your business operations.  Learn how to run your business better using solid business principles that keep your operations changing and shifting as necessary to respond to your target market.  Use the privileges you have to present your requests about your businesses in prayerful petitions before the Lord before setting about any new task.

    __

Ask for the success of your decisions. Ask to be alerted in your spirit if something isn’t going right or if you’re about to make a wrong move.  Ask to know exactly how to go forward without hesitancy.

     __

An important key for business women is to do all of this with thanksgiving.  The scripture is saying that absolutely everything you put in prayer and petition should be presented with a spirit of thanksgiving.  Does that mean the hard and difficult things too?  Absolutely.  Being thankful no matter what the situation shows your strong faith that your business isn’t yours at all – it’s the Lords.  If there’s something difficult going on in the business, be thankful.  Prayerfully ask to learn the lessons you need to know so the next decisions will bring needed changes.

    __

When the business gets a tremendous break or experiences a big sale, express thankfulness.   Sit down and review what happened so you can do this again or even create a way to systematically implement the successful process into your operations.

     __

As you can see, being able to not be anxious about anything, takes conscious awareness on your part. It also requires that you take the steps required to not be worried.  Present your requests in prayerful petitions before the Lord with thanksgiving at all times.

    __

Turn off the negative bombardments that want to capture your thoughts and make you feel fear and instead, keep your mind and heart on the possibilities of the future in your business. You never know what tremendously fabulous idea is just waiting to be brought to the world through your business operations.

Your Business Model: Be an Affiliate Marketer

    By | October 17, 2009

Have you considered affiliate sales?  Being an affiliate to another business means you represent the products or services or another professional and receive a commission for the sale. It’s very similar to setting up a retail operation in a physical location.  You don’t create the products or services provided, you simply provide a store front in which to sell them.

Being an affiliate marketer on the Internet means reviewing available products and services and providing them to your customer or web traffic visitors.  If the person wants to get more information or make a purchase, you provide a special affiliate link that takes the person to the page of the seller of the product or service. When the person uses your link you get credit for the sell and receive a designated commission.

This is a fabulous way to be in business.  Some people on the Internet do their entire business being an affiliate to other products.  When you have an eye for quality products and services, you never have to create your own things to sell.  You simply become the means for customers to find these great products and services and you create an income as a result.

Another great thing about this business model is that you can do this without even setting up a web presence.  A few ways to operate this way is to use a social networking site, write articles and post a link to the affiliate product or put an ad in a targeted ezine.
