As a Christian business woman, have you ever found yourself questioning the value of what you have to offer in the professional world? Have hard times or difficult tasks make you wonder if your skills and talents truly matter?

Reflect on your journey. If there have been times of trial and tribulation that tested your resolve as you pursue your goals, here are three points to remember about how faith is your source of strength in the workplace:

A Helping Hand in the Storm: Have you ever felt like you were drowning in the middle of storm when things got overwhelming in your business, but somehow, you got up and started trying again anyway? If so, it was your faith that pulled you back up when you found yourself overwhelmed by the storm. Remember how Peter tried to walk on water like Jesus and started to doubt? As he was sinking, Jesus reached out His hand to pull him up saving “You of little faith,’ he said, ‘why did you doubt?” (Matt. 13:31). Through prayer and faith, you can find the strength to keep moving towards your goals without doubt. Even if you have to do a beginner dogpaddle in the water, you’ll soon be back in the boat moving towards your goal waiting for you on the shore.

A Courageous Course Correction: Has reluctance to decide ever threatened to get you off course towards a business goal? Maybe you doubted investing in some new technology or enrolling in a needed but expense course. It’s only human to falter at times in your determination to follow a direction you want to move in, especially when it means investing time or money. Pray about it. When you’re unsure and you don’t feel you can make the right decision say, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24). Then pray about it again, wait, and trust God to know the direction to take. You’ll find the courage to make the right choice to correct the direction of your steps and get back on course to accomplish your goals.

A Beacon of Light: What happened the last time you were confused and just couldn’t see straight about your next move in your business? Maybe you took a wrong turn to follow the latest bright shiny object and lost your way. Then stop and reflect on how your faith will bring light into the darkest corners of your journey. When you put in some prayer about a situation you can continue to have hope to see things clearer. Turn your face to things above to see the light to guide your path “For it is you who light my lamp; the Lord my God lightens my darkness” Psalm 18:28. Keep your eyes focused on the light of truth about the situation to see things clearly and you’ll see the direction to take. Through faith and reflection, your next steps will become clear to you.

Daily operating a business will naturally have its ups and downs; just expect it. But that doesn’t mean it has to keep you from pushing ahead. As a woman of faith, call on that faith and prayer to pull you through to move you through with determination.
